Reliance’s Announcement:
Before this, the country’s wealthiest individual, Mukesh Ambani’s company, Reliance Industries, had already announced a partnership with Nvidia AI. Both companies will jointly develop AI language models and generative app development for the millions of customers of Reliance Jio, Reliance Industries’ telecom unit. Under this partnership, Nvidia will provide computing power, while Reliance Jio will manage and maintain the AI cloud infrastructure and oversee customer engagement. Nvidia’s Dominance: The American company Nvidia holds a strong position in the field of computing systems. OpenAI’s GPT-3 is also powered by Nvidia’s computing systems. Nvidia initially started by creating 3D graphics for the gaming and multimedia industry. Today, the company holds almost a monopoly in computing systems.
Foxconn Finds a New Partner
Just a day ago, Bloomberg reported that Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer Foxconn has identified a new partner to establish a semiconductor plant in India. Initially, Foxconn had plans to collaborate with Anil Agarwal’s Vedanta to set up the plant, but later both companies pursued separate plans. Now, Foxconn will be establishing the plant in partnership with ST Microelectronics NV. This plant will be dedicated to producing 40-nanometer chips.
